Abstract: In this paper, Zoom.us, an educational technology application will be described for its use in distance education
environment and in particular in the distance education environment of Michigan State University (MSU). Features of the technology that makes it well or poorly suited to distance education will be described. Distance education technology can improve the access to ongoing learning. This paper uses ACTIONS model to describe the selection and use of Zoom.us
as an educational technology application in distance education. Zoom.us unifies cloud video conferencing, simple online meetings, group messaging, and a software-defined conference room solution into one platform. MSU is one of the top research universities in the world. Home to nationally ranked and recognized academic, residential college, and service learning
